Frequently Asked Questions

How does GenMock generate realistic data?

GenMock uses the Faker.js library combined with intelligent field detection to generate realistic synthetic data. We analyze your JSON structure and automatically select appropriate data types (names, emails, phone numbers, etc.) to ensure the generated data looks authentic.

Is the generated data HIPAA compliant?

Yes! All data generated by GenMock is completely synthetic and contains no real personal health information (PHI). The data follows HIPAA safe harbor de-identification guidelines and is safe to use for testing healthcare applications.

Do you store my input data?

No, we do not store or log any JSON data you input into GenMock. All processing happens client-side when possible, and any server-side processing immediately discards your input data after generation.

What output formats are supported?

Currently, GenMock supports JSON and CSV output formats. We're working on adding SQL INSERT statements and other formats based on user feedback.

Are there any usage limits?

The current free version has reasonable usage limits to ensure fair access for all users. We're planning premium tiers with higher limits and additional features like API hosting and ML dataset generation.

Can I use the generated data commercially?

Yes! Since all generated data is synthetic and contains no real personal information, you can use it freely for commercial purposes including testing, development, demos, and training.
